Michael
Dettling is Director of the Ramsey-Shilling Healthcare Real Estate
Group and a Principal of the firm. He has consulted with hospitals
and medical groups throughout California and nationally for 28 years
in the areas of strategic planning, business development and facility
leasing, and is intimately familiar with healthcare properties and
provider requirements.
Mr.
Dettling graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1973
with a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing. Following a brief
career in professional football, he attended Golden Gate University
in San Francisco to earn a Masters of Business Administration in
1978 while serving as Vice President for the healthcare consulting
and planning firm of Rothrock International.
In
1982, Mr. Dettling established his own consulting business, Dettling
Associates, continuing to provide services to the healthcare industry.
His firm specialized in planning, marketing and facility development.
Mr.
Dettling joined the Ramsey-Shilling Company in 1992 to head the
company s Healthcare Real Estate Group. He successfully recruited
other real estate professionals to Ramsey-Shilling who specialize
in healthcare investments and leasing. Mr. Dettling has personally
leased or sold approximately three million square feet of medically-related
space during the past several years.
In
addition to being a founding member and Director of the Pasadena
Chamber of Commerce Health Services Division, Mr. Dettling is, or
has recently been, an active member of numerous volunteer civic
groups and organizations including; The American Marketing Association,
Health Services Division, The American Hospital Association, Society
for Hospital Marketing and Public Relations, The Los Angeles Medical
Group Management Association, The California Medical Group Management
Association and The Health Task Force for Northwest Pasadena. Mr.
Dettling is also a board member with the Beeve Foundation for World
Eye and Health, executive committee member of the Pasadena Employee
Assistance, board member of the Community Health Alliance of Pasadena
and board member for Options For Youth.
