Eric has twenty years of experience in the retail industry as Executive Vice President of Emerak Enterprises, Incorporated. Eric was responsible for developing relationships and closing deals with key retailers as Neiman Marcus, Hickory Farms, Cost Plus World Market, Bloomingdales, Macys, Costco and Dean & Deluca to name a few. Eric negotiated numerous real estate transactions with major clients such as HOWS Markets, Washington Mutual and JSM Companies, a mixed-use developer.

Participating in work groups to identify the future development of North Hollywood for the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency, Eric has spoken to The Urban Land Institute and the Community Police Advisory Boards of the Los Angeles Police Department. Additionally, he has served on the Targeted Neighborhood Initiative for Mayor Richard Riordan. Eric helped negotiate a Memorandum of Understanding with the Los Angeles Department of Public Works and the City of Los Angeles Certified Neighborhood Councils in conjunction with USC’s Neighborhood Participation Project, Learning and Design Forum. Eric currently serves on the Board of Managers for the East Valley YMCA.

Civic duty is an integral part of his life, and currently Eric served as the Vice President of the Mid-Town North Hollywood Neighborhood Council. He is also the Chairman of the its Planning, Land Use, Housing & Transportation Committee. In addition, he is the Co-Chair of the Community Police Advisory Board for the Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Division.

In recognition of his broad civic involvement, Eric has received many awards including: A Resolution of High Commendation from the Los Angeles City Council, Certificate of Appreciation from former Councilman Joel Wachs, the Los Angeles Police Commission, the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency, Outstanding Civic Service Award from former Council President John Ferraro, Certificate of Commendation from former Los Angeles City Council President John Ferraro, Certificate of Recognition from Los Angeles City Council Member Wendy Gruel.
